The attorney who builds websites
I’m Jack Zaremba. I’ve practiced law in Will County for over two decades, and I’ve been building websites even longer — since 2000. Zaremba Studio is where those two careers meet: web design, rebuilds, and SEO for law firms and professional practices, done by someone who has sat on the client’s side of the table.
Three eras, one website
From 2009 to 2023, I built and ran my own firm’s website myself. I wrote the content, managed the SEO, and learned — by doing it, badly at first — what actually moves the needle for a professional practice online.
In 2023, I did what most firms eventually do: I handed the site to a legal marketing agency. It was a reasonable arrangement — a practicing attorney has cases to try, and specialists could give the site more regular attention than I could between court dates. But over the next two and a half years I came to understand something every firm eventually learns: nobody brings the same urgency to your website that you do. For an agency, your site is one of hundreds. For you, it’s how the next client finds you.
So in 2026 I brought it back in-house and rebuilt it from the ground up: modern WordPress, performance tooling, restructured content, proper schema, zero-downtime cutover. Mobile performance went from 58 to 95+. And I documented every lesson from the entire arc — fifty-one of them — into the repeatable process Zaremba Studio runs on today.
That arc is the qualification I’d want in anyone touching my own site: I’ve been the do-it-yourself owner, the agency’s client, and the builder — on the same website, with the numbers from every era.
Why this matters for your firm
A web vendor can learn WordPress. What they can’t learn quickly is twenty years inside a professional practice. I know what bar advertising rules allow and what they don’t. I know why an AI-generated headshot on an attorney bio is a compliance problem. I know what a person in crisis needs from a law firm’s contact page at 11pm, because those calls used to come to me. And I treat your practice’s reputation the way I treat mine — as the asset everything else depends on.
The practical details
Zaremba Studio, LLC is based in Joliet, Illinois. The law practice and the studio are separate businesses — deliberately. When you hire the studio, you’re hiring a web developer with an attorney’s background, not retaining a lawyer. (And if you need the latter, I know a guy.)
